The Sweepers of Speed
Fast movement leaves solid ribbons of the body suspended in the schoolyard. Children make them for pleasure; the caretaker spends his life sweeping them away.

What You Are Watching
The film described as it happens, in the present tense. Nothing is interpreted here; this is what is on screen, and it is all you need to watch it.
Running children shed pale, hardened trails that ring like plaster and break into chalky lengths. Behind the coal shed, the caretaker’s sweepings form a dune taller than he is. Limbs surface inside it.
He moves slowly because sweeping itself produces residue. One quick reach leaves his own sleeve hanging above the pile. He snaps it off and adds it to the rest. A girl eventually takes his oversized gloves and broom. As she sweeps, his arm rolls beneath the surface and the dune closes over his head.

What Follows
What the film makes true, followed past the image until something is at stake. The question it leaves open is left open.
The yard gives motion a material remainder. Activity does not merely spend energy; it externalises part of the actor. The institution hides this cost behind the person assigned to remove it.
The caretaker is trapped in a recursive task: cleaning creates more of what must be cleaned. Efficiency would worsen the problem, so slowness becomes expert knowledge. From outside it may look like age or resistance; inside the system it is optimisation against a perverse rule.
The dune mixes play, labour, urgency and error into identical dust. Consequences forget motives. Yet ethical judgment cannot stop there, because the distribution of cleanup remains intentional: children may shed freely because one old body has been designated as the sink.
The girl’s inheritance is not only a broom. It is an accumulated past whose individual sources can no longer be separated. Systems renew themselves by giving the next worker both the tool and the unresolved remainder.
